It’s a great way to get in a little bit of a workout while still enjoying a leisurely activity. However, when boats zoomed by sending decent waves toward the shore, staying up got instantly more daring and tricky. The best thing about this paddle board--it is inflatable! So, it’s super easy to travel with! Spending time doing water sports and chilling on the floating dock gave the cousins and adults a chance to grow closer. Adults had great dockside chats as the kids played at our feet. Bigger cousins helped younger ones get more comfortable in and around the water. The house was perfect for our extended family. Each family had their own bedroom with at least two beds and their own bathroom (hollar!!!). Since we packed light, we had plenty of open space in our bedroom. It was so nice to have our own space to crash each night after hours of lake fun. We have made due with far less space and still had a great time. Then we know exactly how it fits into our budget and there are no expensive surprises popping up during our trip. Prepaid attractions are often in the form of tickets (zoos, museums, Disney, SeaWorld, Universal, etc). The number of days and added perks on the tickets will add to the final price. Determine what matters to you and your family and incorporate it into your vacation budget. Reservations for unique experiences are another type of prepaid attraction. It was such a delightful stay. The guesthouse has 12 rooms, and it was clean and quaint. I would highly recommend it! The best part of our room was the stunning view out our windows. Waking up to the white-capped alps and grandeur of the rock faces was such a treat! It was like waking up in a magical land every morning. The ground floor is a little pub, so you can enjoy a pint at the end of your day before settling down in your room. They also have a restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner. These are no ordinary waterfalls! These falls consist of 10 glacier waterfalls coming from the melting nearby mountains that thunder through the INSIDE of the mountains. That's right--these giant falls are completely enclosed by a rock wall. When I say thunder…I mean roaring, crazy freaking loud, THUNDER of crashing water! 20,000 liters of water per second smashing its way through the mountain interior. It’s one of the most powerful displays of nature I have ever seen! You will pay about $12 per adult and $4 per child to get in, and it is totally worth it. You can see sailboats out on the San Diego Bay and check out all the Naval ships docked at Naval Base San Diego. There is so much sand real estate that you will not have to worry about finding a spot to set up camp. Even on busy holidays or summer weekends, it never feels overly crowded because there's SO MUCH SPACE! (This place invented social distancing.) This is one of the things that we love about it! We are never thrilled about going to a beach where the sunscreen spray from the party next to us blows all over our faces every time they reapply. No, sir. The beach has a nice gradual entry into the ocean, so there is plenty of space for little ones to play in water that is less than a foot deep. No sky diving with your little one snuggled in a wrap on your belly as you fall through the atmosphere. For example, Bo and I went to Iceland in the middle of February (aka harsh winter season) and spent the majority of our time outdoors in the cold, snowy weather. At one point it was so windy while it was snowing, that it felt like continuously getting shot in the face with an ice-filled BB gun. Not exactly an ideal trip for a baby. One of our favorite experiences was paragliding over the Lauterbrunnen Valley in the majestic Swiss Alps. I can still picture the breathtaking views throughout the delightful glide! They have single and double tubes you can use, or you can free-float all the way around. It’s perfect for relaxing with a cold drink in your hand as you slowly drift around. Or you can have a blast with your kids pushing them around, racing through the route, or soaking them with the spray fountains on the sides. This is now the second lazy river in the area.
